Battlefield 6 controls
Default keybinds, controller layouts, and the sensitivity options worth changing.
Battlefield 6 has more bindable actions than a typical infantry shooter because you also drive tanks, fly jets, ping gadgets, and drag teammates. Default controls are playable. They are not sacred. This page lists the defaults you will actually use and the few options that change how the game feels. For graphics, upscaling, and visibility, use best settings. For what the buttons are trying to do in a fight, stay with getting started.
PC infantry defaults
These are the defaults most players meet on keyboard and mouse. Your copy may differ slightly after a preset, but the logic is stable:
| Action | Default |
|---|---|
| Move | WASD |
| Jump / vault | Space |
| Sprint | Left Shift |
| Crouch (hold) | Left Ctrl |
| Prone | Z |
| Fire / zoom | Mouse 1 / Mouse 2 |
| Reload / interact | E (hold interact on some presets) |
| Melee | V |
| Grenade | G |
| Gadget 1 / 2 | 3 / 4 or dedicated gadget keys |
| Spot / Commo Rose | Q or Left Alt depending on preset |
| Scoreboard / inventory | Tab |
| Big map | M |
| Quick loadout | Y |
| Enter / exit vehicle | E or F depending on infantry-versus-vehicle preset |
The interact-versus-enter-vehicle conflict is the first thing to fix. If E both reloads and pulls you into a tank you did not want, split those binds. Many PC players keep reload on R if they rebound interact, or they keep E for both and accept the hold delay. Pick one. Do not leave it ambiguous.
Crouch and slide share logic: the game looks at whether you are sprinting. A single crouch key that slides from sprint is cleaner than a dedicated slide bind you will forget. Vault-on-sprint should stay on so you do not get stuck on sandbox debris.
Mouse feel
Start here, then stop tweaking every death:
- Infantry mouse aim sensitivity: 40–50 as a baseline, then change only after a full session.
- Uniform infantry aiming: On.
- Zoom sensitivity coefficient: 178 if you want ADS to match hip feel the way older Battlefield titles did.
- Infantry zoom aim sensitivity: 80–90 if 178 still feels like a different gun.
- Vertical mouse aim ratio: 100 unless you already play with a different vertical scale.
- Field of view: 105 on 16:9, a little higher if you have the frames. Low FOV makes the game look cinematic and hides people at the edge of the screen.
Turn off double-tap forward to sprint. It fights strafing. Vehicle and helicopter sensitivities should sit a little lower than infantry so a tank turret is not a sniper flick.
Controller
On a pad, Battlefield 6 is a different game. Aim assist exists; use it. Community starting points that keep showing up:
- Infantry aim sensitivity around 40–45.
- FOV 110–115 if the frame rate holds.
- Vertical aim ratio and vertical zoom ratio around 45 so look-up is not a neck snap.
- Uniform aiming on, zoom coefficient 178.
- Aim assist, slowdown, and zoom snap at 100 unless you have a reason.
- Soldier aim input curve: BF1 or BF4 if the default feels sticky.
- Sprint as toggle or stick-click, vault on sprint on, double-tap crouch for sprint slide on if you actually slide.
- Vibration off if you care about micro-aim.
- Stick deadzones as low as your drift allows. Raise center deadzone only to kill drift, not because a video said 5.
You can fully rebind the pad. The default soldier layout is fine: RT/R2 fire, LT/L2 zoom, A/X jump, B/Circle crouch, X/Square reload, Y/Triangle cycle, RB/R1 grenade. Vehicle seats on the d-pad are worth learning before you take a tank into Firestorm.
Vehicles and aircraft
Driving uses WASD or the left stick. Turret aim is mouse or right stick. Fire is left click / RT. Zoom is right click / LT. Switch vehicle weapons with F or Y/Triangle. Lock a tank turret when you need the hull to turn independently — default V or d-pad down on many presets.
Helicopters and jets have their own sensitivity sliders. Turn helicopter control assists off once you can hover without them; assists fight you in a dogfight. Practice in an empty Portal server, not in a ranked mood. The vehicle guide explains what the seats do. This page only explains how you tell the game you meant to pitch down.
Quality-of-life binds
- Put ping on a mouse side button if you have one. Squads that ping vehicles win flags.
- Drag revive is contextual on interact; do not stand on a body mashing jump.
- Map on M (or the touch pad) should become a reflex on Tsuru Reef. If you cannot find the next island, you will swim.
- Skip-to-deploy on Space is useful in long respawn cameras. Do not tap it while jumping in a fight — another reason some players move jump.
Once the binds feel invisible, stop living in this menu. Spend the time on classes, loadouts, and maps. Controls are the floor. They are not the meta.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Battlefield 6 questions.
Can I rebind every key in Battlefield 6?
Yes, on both keyboard and controller. Split reload and enter-vehicle if they fight each other on your preset.
What sensitivity should I use on mouse?
Start at 40–50 infantry mouse aim with uniform aiming on and a 178 zoom coefficient. Change one number per session.
Where are graphics settings?
On the best settings page. This guide is binds and aim feel, not DLSS.
