Battlefield 6 Portal

Portal is Battlefield 6’s creator sandbox. It is not a replacement for the server browser that is still scheduled for Season 5, and it is not a legal XP farm anymore. If you came here to level a gun overnight against bots, skip to the XP section and save yourself a wasted evening. If you came here to host a hardcore Conquest, a night-ops rotation, or a spectator lobby for a community night, this page is the field manual.

Pair it with game modes so you know which official ruleset you are modifying, and with patch notes after any update that mentions Portal lobbies.

Two ways to build

Verified Modes start from official Conquest, Rush, Breakthrough, and later seasonal modes. You change player count, bots, map rotation, weapon locks, and modifiers. You do not write custom scripts. Verified experiences are the ones that still grant full progression when EA says they do — that is the whole point of the verified pipeline.

Portal Custom is the empty template plus the Portal Next SDK: logic blocks, UI tweaks, custom maps, AI scripting. These experiences grant modified XP. Fun is allowed. Rank grinding is not the job.

Build on portal.battlefield.com while signed into the same EA account you play on. Publish, wait for moderation (often about three hours when the queue is busy), then find the experience in-game under Community.

How to Use the Battlefield Portal

How to host and join

In-game: main menu → Community. Search Experiences by name, tag, or experience code. Host from a published experience, set a password if you want a private room, then start.

Custom Lobbies (Season 4, August 2026) sit on top of verified Portal experiences:

1. Pick a supported verified experience.
2. Host it and turn Enable Lobby on.
3. Configure lobby settings before you click Host — you cannot edit them after the lobby exists.
4. Share the join code from Team Creation → Reveal Join Code.
5. Seat people into teams and squads in the pre-match lobby. Assign admins. Assign spectators if you enabled them.

Join from the Portal Servers list (look for Lobby Enabled) or by code. This is how you run a community night without dumping twelve strangers into a loading screen with no teams.

Spectator mode

Spectators watch without taking a team slot. EA currently supports spectators on Custom Lobbies for Battle Royale Quads and Conquest. Cameras cover the map, third-person follows, first-person follows, and a scoreboard. Toggle kill-feed filters in Spectator Options. Use it for tournaments and VODs, not for hiding from a loss.

XP, bots, and what got nerfed

Launch-week Portal farms are dead. Bot-heavy lobbies now need a minimum number of real players to start (eight is the number players keep hitting). XP against bots is reduced; many challenges no longer count bot kills. Match-completion bonuses may still pay something. If the experience is a verified official-ruleset with humans, treat it like All-Out Warfare for progression. If it is a zombie map with six friends and a wall of AI, treat it as entertainment.

Do not burn Hardware XP boosters here. Use them on loadouts in real playlists, ideally during the windows listed on codes.

What Portal is for in September 2026

• Hardcore or closed-weapon versions of maps you already know from the maps guide.
• Vehicle ranges and jet practice without feeding tickets on Tsuru Reef.
• Community events with a pre-match lobby and spectators.
• Weird verified modifiers: night ops, one-shot rules, extraction-style experiences.

What it is not: the official persistent server browser. That is a Season 5 feature, covered on the Season 5 page. Until then, Portal is the only legal way to pick a ruleset and a ping you can live with.

If you are brand new, finish getting started and a few Conquest rounds before you live in Community. Portal will still be there when you know why tickets move.
