Battlefield 6 Season 4

Season 4: Pacific Front went live on July 21, 2026 with game update 1.4.1.0. It is the season that brought naval combat back to Battlefield 6. If you stopped after Season 3’s Railway to Golmud, this is the chapter that changes how you rotate. Read it with the maps guide and the vehicle guide. For the numbered bug-fix list, use patch notes.

Launch day (July 21)

• Tsuru Reef — largest map in the game, an archipelago of resorts, gates, harbors, and an air base connected by open water. Dynamic waves. Boats are not optional if you want to contest more than one island.
• 7.7m NSW RHIB and RCB-90 patrol boat — the small taxi and the actual gunboat.
• Weapons: BROD 3 (carbine, Night Parade path tier 11), EF88 (bullpup rifle, Benthic Tomb path tier 11), VSSM (suppressed DMR, Recruit path tier 5).
• Battle Pass with multiple paths and 100-plus tiers. Gameplay guns are on the pass, not in a paid crate.
• REDSEC updates on Fort Lyndon, including later carrier space.

Mid-season (August 18, update 1.4.2.0)

• Wake Island returns — the atoll, rebuilt for this engine, with docks, radar, hangars, and a wreck.
• Carrier Strike limited mode and Fighter Sweep jets-only Gauntlet mission.
• F/A-81F Super Spectre and F-74A Seacat two-seat jets.
• Interdictor sniper via event.
• Top Gun theming on the carrier POI in REDSEC.
• Custom lobbies and spectator tools landing in the same window.

Late season (September 2026, Tidal Strike)

Tidal Strike is Season 4 Phase 3 on September 15, 2026: Tsuru Reef Breakthrough rework, a reticle pass, vehicle handling, REDSEC proximity chat, AFK and leave penalties, then Deep Six and a two-week anniversary later in the month. It is not a third map. After you download, confirm the client string and use patch notes for numbered gun lines. What comes after this chapter is previewed on Season 5.

How to play the season, not just collect it

Queue Tsuru Reef as Engineer or Support at least once before you decide the map is “empty.” The fight is on the water and the docks. Wake Island is the same lesson with a shape you already know from older Battlefield games. If you only play Empire State, Season 4 will look like a trailer you skipped.

Unlock VSSM first (Recruit 5), then decide if you want EF88 or BROD 3. Do not spend coins on the whole pass unless you care about skins. Copy attachments from loadouts after the gun is in your armory. Match Trigger no longer cheats full-auto on BROD and EF88 after 1.4.2.5 — if an old video still recommends it for that, ignore the video.

Modes and quality-of-life

Season 4 is also where Portal-adjacent features caught up: custom lobbies, spectator, proximity chat tests. Ranked BR continued. None of that replaces Conquest. It just means you can finally host the ruleset you actually wanted in Season 1.

If you only do five things

1. Play Tsuru Reef with a boat once.
2. Play Wake Island once so you know the atoll in this engine.
3. Unlock VSSM.
4. Put an Engineer on your squad for Pacific playlists.
5. Read the weapon tier list after you own the new rifles, not before.

Pacific Front is also a test of whether you like Battlefield when the next flag is a boat ride. Some players will live on Tsuru Reef until the season ends. Some will hide in Cairo Bazaar and ignore the trailer. Both are valid. The mistake is queuing the new map with an Empire State SMG kit and then writing the season off. Bring an optic, bring an Engineer, and give the water ten minutes.

If you only log in for REDSEC, still glance at the carrier POI notes so you do not drop blind onto a flight deck full of people who watched the same trailer. The royale and All-Out Warfare share a Battle Pass this season; XP you earn in one still pushes the gun you wanted in the other. That is the practical reason to care about Season 4 even if you never spawn a patrol boat.
