PC System Requirements

Battlefield 6 is a 64-player Frostbite shooter with destruction, vehicles, and — as of Season 4 — a naval map that is larger than anything at launch. The Steam page lists two official tiers. Marketing slides also mentioned Ultra and Ultra+ targets. This page translates those lists into what you should expect in 2026, including the boot-security checks that still block installs.

Official storefronts: Steam (app 2807960), EA App, Epic Games Store. Steam does not require the EA App to play, but it does require an EA account. Epic requires both. Consoles are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no Switch version and no dedicated Steam Deck support.

Minimum (1080p, low, about 30 FPS native)

  • OS: Windows 10, 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT 6 GB, or Intel Arc A380
  • DirectX: 12
  • Storage: 55 GB
  • Network: broadband

Treat “30 FPS on low” as a floor, not a goal. With DLSS or FSR you can make this hardware more playable. You cannot make it a 144 Hz competitive setup. If you are here, use the best settings page aggressively: blur off, foliage down, upscaling on.

  • OS: Windows 11, 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
  • RAM: 16 GB (32 GB is the comfortable 2026 choice on Tsuru Reef)
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, or Intel Arc B580
  • Storage: 80 GB SSD

This is the tier that feels like Battlefield. 16 GB of RAM is official; closing Chrome is still part of the build. An SSD is the difference between streaming destruction and hitching in Cairo.

Higher official targets

EA also published Ultra and Ultra+ slides around launch:

  • Ultra: Intel i9-12900K or Ryzen 7 7800X3D, RTX 4080 or RX 7900 XTX, 32 GB RAM — 4K ultra at 60, or 1440p high at 144 with upscaling.
  • Ultra+: Core Ultra 285K or Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5080-class, 32 GB — the frame-generation marketing tier.

If you do not own that hardware, you are not missing a gameplay mode. You are missing extra shadows that hide infantry. Stay on recommended settings and spend the money on a better mouse.

TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, HVCI

The launcher can refuse to start if TPM 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot, and HVCI/VBS capability are missing. This is not a joke FAQ. Enable them in BIOS, confirm in Windows System Information, and reboot. If you dual-boot an older OS that hates Secure Boot, that is a machine problem, not a Battlefield 6 problem.

Storage, installs, and seasons

Minimum 55 GB is the small install. Recommended 80 GB is closer to what a Season 4 player actually has on disk after maps, REDSEC, and extras. Leave headroom. Optional packs and high-resolution textures are how 80 GB becomes 100.

Consoles, in one paragraph

PS5 and Xbox Series X hold a more consistent picture than a minimum PC. Series S is the expected resolution cut. PS5 Pro can push higher internal rates. None of them need TPM. They still need the FOV and blur changes on best settings.

If your PC is under minimum, play REDSEC only if it launches — it is the same engine. There is no magic light client. If you pass recommended, go back to getting started and queue. Specs do not cap flags.

Laptop players should add thermal headroom to every number on this page. A desktop RTX 3060 Ti in a blown-out chassis is not the same card under a 90°C limit. Close overlays you do not need, plug into wall power, and do not chase Ultra shadows on a 1080p panel. The best settings page is the practical partner to this spec sheet; together they are how a “minimum” PC becomes a stable Conquest machine instead of a crash report.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Battlefield 6 questions.

Does Battlefield 6 require the EA App on Steam?

No. Steam needs an EA account, not the EA App. Epic Games Store purchases do need the EA App.

Why won’t the game launch on PC?

Most often TPM 2.0 or UEFI Secure Boot is off. Enable both in BIOS. The other common failure is an unsupported GPU or missing DirectX 12.

Is an SSD required?

The minimum list allows 55 GB without naming SSD. You still want one. Season 4 maps and destruction hitch on a spinning disk.
