Maps And Layouts Guide

Battlefield 6 launched with nine multiplayer maps and then added two per season. As of Season 4 you are choosing among a full rotation that includes infantry cages, classic oil fields, a moving train on the way to Golmud, and the largest naval map the series has shipped in this generation. This guide is a layout briefing, not a tourist list. Read it with the vehicle guide and the class guide or you will spawn as Recon on a boat map and wonder why the tickets evaporate.

Launch maps (October 10, 2025)

  • Siege of Cairo — dense Egyptian streets, vertical interiors, infantry first. Assault and Support thrive. Tanks exist but they are guests.
  • Iberian Offensive — Gibraltar rock, mixed ranges, elevation that punishes people who never look up.
  • Liberation Peak — mountain sightlines, long rifles, vehicles that actually matter.
  • Empire State — infantry-only Brooklyn. Alleys, rooftops, no tanks to hide behind. This is the map that exposes bad squad play.
  • Operation Firestorm — the Battlefield 3 oil field, rebuilt. Infantry, tanks, helicopters, jets. If you want “Battlefield,” queue this.
  • Saints Quarter — close-quarters infantry. Shotguns and SMGs. Engineer is a rocket for cover, not a career.
  • New Sobek City — Cairo outskirts, construction and dunes, full combined arms.
  • Mirak Valley — wide rural space, armor lanes, a punishing walk if you spawn wrong.
  • Manhattan Bridge — urban chokepoints with a landmark in the middle of the fight.

Learn two of these well before you worry about Season 4. Firestorm and Cairo teach opposite lessons: one is a sandbox, one is a street fight.

Season 1 and 2 additions

  • Blackwell Fields (October 28, 2025) — Season 1 opener, open terrain, Strikepoint-sized thinking even in larger modes.
  • Eastwood (November 18, 2025) — Southern California, mixed interiors and streets.
  • Contaminated (February 17, 2026) — Season 2 hazard theming, mid-size fights.
  • Hagental Base (March 17, 2026) — base assault, more vehicles than the street maps.

Season 3: scale and nostalgia

  • Railway to Golmud (May 12, 2026) — for a while the largest map in the game. Ruined villages, armor fields, industry, and a train that moves the argument. If you refuse to use vehicles here, you are a passenger.
  • Cairo Bazaar (June 9, 2026) — Battlefield 3’s Grand Bazaar idea, rebuilt for this engine. Infantry, corners, grenades.

Season 4: Pacific Front

  • Tsuru Reef (July 21, 2026) — current largest map. An archipelago: Yumeji (Majestic Ikoi Resort), Kaze (Mifune Landing, Tsuru Gate), Dusk (Moon Shore, Sunrise Harbor), Mist (air base and port), plus smaller NATO and Pax headquarters islands. Open water is the fifth lane. Boats are not flavor; they are how you rotate. Waves change what you can see. Later in the season the playspace grows with carriers and Carrier Strike.
  • Wake Island (August 18, 2026) — the franchise’s most remade atoll, now with modern naval rules. Radar station, barracks, hangars, fuel, docks, a shipwreck. Air and sea matter as much as the beach. If you only infantry-walk the horseshoe, you will be late to every flag.

Tsuru Reef is the map people screenshot and then never learn. Hold the resort if you want infantry chaos. Hold the air base if you want vehicles. Hold the water if you want to decide who arrives at either. A squad of Engineers and one Support on a patrol boat will outscore four Assaults swimming.

How to pick a class from the map screen

Infantry cages (Empire State, Saints Quarter, Cairo Bazaar): Assault and Support. Shotguns and SMGs from the weapon tier list. Skip tanks in your head.

Mixed cities (Siege of Cairo, Eastwood, Manhattan Bridge): one Engineer for the occasional armor, otherwise infantry kits.

Sandboxes (Firestorm, Mirak Valley, Golmud, New Sobek, Blackwell Fields): full squad spread. Someone must fly or repair.

Pacific (Tsuru Reef, Wake Island): Engineer is mandatory. Recon is useful on cliffs and carriers. Assault still takes buildings. Support keeps the boat crew alive. Read Season 4 if the rotation just added a mode like Carrier Strike or Fighter Sweep.

Breakthrough versus Conquest

The same map is two maps. Conquest is a simultaneous puzzle; you can ignore a flag. Breakthrough is a funnel; the next sector is the only argument. On Breakthrough, smoke and Support revives beat a 400-meter Recon overwatch that never pushes. On Conquest, a stolen vehicle spawn can win a flag you never walked to.

Tsuru Reef Breakthrough favored defenders for most of Season 4. Tidal Strike on September 15, 2026 moves capture zones, adds boat flanks, and retunes spawns so attackers can actually take a foothold. Treat that layout as new. Mode rules themselves live on the game modes page.

Season 5 will add three unnamed maps plus later reworks of Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City. Until those have official names, they stay on the Season 5 preview, not in this list.

If you are new, use getting started and fight on Cairo or Saints Quarter before you drop into Tsuru Reef’s water. The map is not harder because it is “sweaty.” It is harder because the spawn-to-flag time is a voyage.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Battlefield 6 questions.

How many maps are in Battlefield 6?

Nine at launch, then two per season. Season 4 added Tsuru Reef and Wake Island, bringing the multiplayer list to seventeen named layouts plus mode variants.

What is the biggest map?

Tsuru Reef, which passed Railway to Golmud when Season 4 launched. Size is water plus islands, not a single walkable rectangle. Breakthrough on that layout changes with Tidal Strike.

Which map is best for beginners?

Siege of Cairo or Saints Quarter. You will die, but you will die near a flag instead of in the ocean. Then read getting started.
