Battlefield 6 class tier list
Which role actually moves tickets on Pacific Front maps.
Classes in Battlefield 6 are not balanced for a 1v1 arena. They are balanced for a 64-player sandbox that also contains boats this season. This tier list ranks impact in public All-Out Warfare as of Season 4. It is a cousin of the class guide, not a replacement. If you need gadgets and training paths, read that. If you need “what should I queue when my squad already has two Assaults,” stay here.
S — Support
Support is the strongest class for most players on most maps. The kit heals, restocks, and revives. LMGs have no sprint penalty, so you can rotate. A defibrillator is a ticket printer. A supply bag makes your squad’s bad positioning slightly less fatal. On Tsuru Reef a Support on a boat keeps the crew shooting. On Empire State a Support in a stairwell keeps a flag alive.
You do not need aim of the year. You need to be one room behind the fight with smokes. That is why Support sits above Assault even though Assault wins more highlight clips.
S — Engineer (on vehicle maps)
Engineer is S-tier whenever the map has armor, air, or boats worth a repair torch. That is Firestorm, Golmud, Mirak Valley, New Sobek, Blackwell Fields, Tsuru Reef, Wake Island, and any Breakthrough sector with a tank spawn. A team with no Engineer is a team donating vehicles.
On Saints Quarter and Empire State, Engineer drops to A or B. Rockets still delete cover. They do not replace a medic. If your rotation is infantry-only tonight, play Support or Assault.
A — Assault
Assault is the default shooter. Adrenaline, ladders, launchers, a second primary — it is the class that takes a building. It is not the class that wins a round by itself. Two Assaults and no Support is how tickets leak. Play Assault when you are the entry, when the map is streets, or when you are learning gunplay via the weapon tier list.
Assault’s skill floor is low and its ceiling is “you ran past the objective.” Stay on the flag you just cleared.
B — Recon (public matches)
Recon is S-tier in a coordinated stack and B-tier in a silent pub. Drones, beacons, and C-4 win games. A hill camper with twelve kills and no spots is a passenger. Season 4’s long Pacific sightlines look like a sniper dream until you realize the fight is on an island you never visited.
If you want to main Recon, plant beacons on the back of contested points and play closer than you think. The maps guide will tell you which cliffs are actually useful.
Mode modifiers
- Conquest — Support and Engineer. Flags plus vehicles.
- Breakthrough / Rush — Support first, Assault second. Revives and smokes beat a 300-meter overwatch.
- Infantry playlists — Assault and Support. Engineer mines are a bonus.
- Carrier Strike / naval — Engineer, then Support, then Assault. Recon on the deck if you can hit jets.
- REDSEC — the same four kits, different economy. See REDSEC.
How to apply this without being annoying
If your squad select screen shows three Recons, you are the Support. If it shows zero Engineers on Wake Island, you are the Engineer. Personal comfort matters until the map punishes it. Then the vehicle guide and this list matter more than your favorite rifle.
New players should ignore the Recon fantasy for a week. Use getting started, play Support, and copy a loadout. Your scoreboard will look better than your kill clip, which is the point of Battlefield.
A last ranking note: this list is for public matchmaking. In a five-stack that talks, Recon jumps a grade and a second Engineer can be overkill. In a silent solo queue, the opposite is true. Rank the class for the voice chat you actually have, not the one in the trailer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Battlefield 6 questions.
What is the best class in Battlefield 6?
Support for most public matches. Engineer on vehicle and naval maps. Assault if you only want to fight infantry. Recon if your squad actually uses intel.
Why is Recon ranked lower?
Because uncoordinated sniping does not move tickets. The gadgets are excellent; the typical pub play pattern is not.
Does closed weapons change the class tier list?
It changes your gun, not the gadget value. Support is still Support without KORD. Read the class guide for signature locks.
